Good Morning Bangladesh, Lakemba a fund raising initiative for cancer council

Good Morning Bangladesh, Lakemba a fund raising initiative by Bangladeshi Australian Community for Cancer Council of NSW has been taken place on last Sunday, 13th of June 21 at The Australian National Sports Club, Parry Park, Lakemba.This event has been successfully running for last 11 years.

It was sunny winter morning and women, men and children came to the venue to enjoy breakfast with a cuppa and donated generously. Programme ran from 0930 am to 1230 pm. Organisers brought traditional homemade Bangladeshi breakfast items and sold at the venue. Organisers provided free jumping castles for children. Approximately 500 people turned up and had their breakfast. They donated generously.All foods ran out by the end of the programme. 

The local community has raised $16,324.00 and all proceeds has been given to Cancer Council of NSW. 

Main organiser of the event was Mr Farooq Hannan, MCs Ms Usha Hannan and Ms Suzana Sofian.

Consul General of Bangladesh in Sydney Mr. KhandkerMasudul Alam, Renowned Physician and co-founder of the GMB Dr Ayaz Chowdhury, Hon State MP for Canterbury Sophie Cotsis, Mr Rory Alcock, Community Engagement, Cancer Council NSW, Dr Rafiqur Rahman, Ex-president Medical Society of NSW, Dr Moinul Islam president ShaplaShaluk Lions Club, Mr Farooq Hannan, main organiser of GMBL, Mr Enamul Huq, prominent business and organiser of GMBL. Mr Tanveer Shaheed, main coordinator for GMB programmes. Mr Sayed Rahman,  Dr Abdul Wahab, Mr Abu Yaqub Syed, Mr Jamil Hossain, Mr Reaz Hyder, Mr DhiderZafar, Mr Bashar Khan and many others from the community.

Recognition crests have been given to 14 sponsors of the event. It was a wonderful community event for a noble cause with active participation of people from all walks of life.
